Yangzhong is a county-level city managed by Zhenjiang, located in the middle of Jiangsu and on the south bank of the Yangtze River. It is one of the few island cities in Jiangsu. At the conference press conference, Yangzhong Mayor Zhang Dejun said that by 2020, the total installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic power generation in Yangzhong City will reach 400 MW.

Zhang Dejun introduced that Yangzhong is one of the counties and cities in the photovoltaic industry “full industry chain” in the country. The green new energy industry represented by photovoltaics is one of the three leading industries in Yangzhong.

In 2016, Yangzhong was approved to create a national high-scale new energy demonstration city, which is also the first in Jiangsu Province. The output scale of its green new energy industry reached 34.5 billion yuan.

Zhang Dejun told surging journalists that Yangzhong has many successful cases in the photovoltaic industry. For example, the administrative center of Yangzhong City uses 15,000 square meters of roof area for photovoltaic power generation, saving more than 2 million yuan in electricity bills over a year.

Photovoltaic power generation is used on the water and aquaculture is used underwater to form an intensive development model of "water power generation and underwater fish farming", so as to achieve a win-win situation of economic, social and environmental benefits.

Zhang Dejun said that since 2007, Yangzhong has realized the photovoltaic industry from scratch by relying on its own network advantages. It is expected that by the end of 2017, the industrial scale will reach 50 billion yuan, and strive to form a 100 billion-level industrial scale by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan.
